“EXIT Europe” pursues the key objective to develop locally embedded, civil-society based exit programmes across all forms of violent extremism in Europe.
Since 2019, the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) has been coordinating an EU project focusing on the implementation of needs-oriented exit and de-radicalisation work. The project, which was financed through resources provided by the Internal Security Fund (ISF), will be completed by the end of March 2021 and has been a great success: exit programmes have been established in all five participating countries and a European Manual for Exit Work has been created. The networks established will guarantee multi-agency based efforts when continuing the exit programmes in the countries involved in the future.
